Hello there, my name is Alexandra, but you can call me Ali. I am 29 years old, and I am from beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.
I’m a native English speaker, so I will be able to answer any questions you may have. I’m also learning Korean, (안녕하세요!) so I understand how difficult it can feel sometimes to learn a new language. Well done for taking this brave first step!
I have a TEFL certificate and 4 years of teaching experience. I started teaching English in Vietnam 4 years ago, and completely fell in love with it! Since then I have taught in Vietnam, and now I teach privately in South Africa. I have taught a variety of ages, from very young kids of 3 years old, to young adults.
I’m very caring and supportive in my classes. This is a safe space to have fun, make mistakes and learn together. I believe we all learn in different ways, and that is very important to me. If you or your child would like to learn beginner phonics, or if you’d like to improve your conversation skills, business English, or if you need help preparing for tests – I can help you through it all.

Job interview preparation - Intermediate/advanced

This course consists of 4 classes, each 1 hour long (2 x 30 minute classes booked at a time) that will allow for great preparation for future job interviews. We will go through all aspects of the interview process from ensuring your resume is perfect, to full preparation of interview questions. I will help you go into the interview with full confidence to get your dream job! 1. Introduction and talk about the position. Look at resume: make corrections and suggestions. You will complete this and bring to next lesson. 2. Finalise your resume with corrections. We will look at sample interview questions and prepare answers. 3. We will do a fake interview between the two of us and I will help guide your answers. 4. Feedback on previous practice interview, answer questions and ensure you are confident for the interview. Please feel free to book single lessons after this course if you would like to feel more confident. I look forward to helping you!

Free talking with a native speaker

This is the perfect time to ask any questions and get comfortable speaking to a native speaker! Do you ever feel like you do not know 'small talk' like a native speaker? Do you watch movies and think the characters speak very quickly, and use slang words you do not understand? Well, let me give you all the skills to perfect your conversational English just like a native. We will do free talking for the first part of the lesson and we will go into a focus section where we look at points to improve the free talking by improving areas of grammar. This will all lead to greater fluency. Please book 2 x 30 minute lessons together so that we have 5 x 1 hour lessons in each package.

2020-05-24 17:43:11It was over as soon as I started class with Alexandra. It's a shame that time flies so fast as we're supposed to meet at the course class next time. I recommend it to everyone because the pronunciation is so clean and easy to understand. 그리고 한국드라마도 좋아하고 k-pop 도 좋아하고 너무나 활발하고 기분좋게 해주는 선생님 입니다 .
